This page explains how to ask for your CareMoss carer app account and data to be deleted, what is removed, and what has to be kept. The full app privacy notice covers everything the app collects.
There is no self-registration in the carer app. Your account is created by the care provider who employs you, and under UK data protection law that provider is the data controller for the records held in it. CareMoss runs the software on their behalf as the processor.
That is why deletion starts with your employer: they are the people entitled to decide, and they can act immediately.
Route 1 — your employer, which is fastest. Ask your manager or your organisation's CareMoss administrator. They can deactivate your account directly in the CareMoss console, which takes effect straight away.
Route 2 — write to us. Email info@caremoss.com with the subject App data deletion request. Tell us the name of the organisation you work for and the email address you sign in with, so we can find the right record.
We will acknowledge your request within 5 working days, pass it to the care provider responsible for the record, and confirm the outcome to you.
Care records you wrote about the people you support — visit notes, observations and vital signs, medication administration, body-map entries and incident reports — are not deleted with your account.
They are not your personal data to erase. They form part of another person's health and social care record, they belong to the care provider, and health and social care records must be retained for a number of years after the last contact to meet statutory and regulatory duties. Deleting them on a former employee's request would break the care record of the person who received that care, and would remove evidence a regulator is entitled to see.
The same applies to attendance and payroll records — check-in times, timesheets and the hours you were paid for — which are kept for the periods employment and tax law require.
Where your name appears in those retained records as the person who provided the care, it stays, because a care record that does not say who delivered the care is not a usable record.
If you downloaded the app but were never given an account, there is nothing to delete: without an account the app holds nothing about you beyond a failed sign-in attempt. Uninstalling it removes everything on the handset.
Under UK GDPR you also have rights of access, correction, restriction, portability and objection. Exercise them with your employer as the controller, or contact us and we will route the request. If you are not satisfied with how it is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
